Let

Breadth of a rectangle be x.

I.e

Breadth=x

It is given that length of rectangle is 8 m less than the twice of breadth

So

Length = twice of breadth - 8

I.e length = 2x-8

We know that the perimeter of rectangle is

2[ length+breadth]

Perimeter = 2 (length + breadth)

Perimeter is given as 56 m

56= 2(2x-8 + x)

56=6x-16

6x=56+16

6x=72

x=12

Length= 2x-8 =16 m

Breadth =x=12 m
