perimeter of a rectangle is 2( length *width)
let the width be x,so length will be x+4
2(4+x+x)=16
2(4+2x)=16
4+2x=8
2x=8-4
2x=4
x=4/2
x=2
length= 4 + 2 = 26
width=2
area= length* width
=6*2
=12
