Answer:

Let the width of a rectangle = W = x

The length of a rectangle is five times its width

therefore length of a rectangle = L = 5x

perimeter of rectangle = 70

2(L+W)=70 cm

2(5x+x)=70 cm

2(6x)=70 cm

12x=70 cm

x=70/12cm

=>x=35/6 cm

as The length of a rectangle is five times its width.

therefore 5x= 5*35/6= 175/6

area of rectangle = L*W

=35/6*175/6

= 1725/36

=> area if rectangle = 1725/36

Let width of rectangle be x

Therefore, length = 5x

Perimeter = 70 cm

We know that :-

perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)

where :-

  • l = length
  • b = breadth

According to the question :-

 \implies \sf 2(x + 5x) = 70

 \implies \sf 2 \times 6x = 70

\implies \sf 6x =  \dfrac{70}{2}

\implies \sf 6x = 35

\implies \sf x =  \dfrac{35}{6}  \: cm

width of rectangle = 35/6 cm

length = 5× (35/6) = 175/6 cm

Answer :

  • length of rectangle = 175/6 cm
  • breadth = 35/6 cm
