now,

area of rectangle=l*b

28=X*X+3

28=X(X+3)

28=X^2+3X

X^2+3X-28= 0

X^2+7X-4X-28=0

X(X+7)-4(X+7)=0

(X+7)(X-4)=0

X=-7(rejected value,as the side can't be negative),4

breadth=Xcm=4cm

length=X+3cm =4+3=7cm
