let length of rectangle be x

breadth=x+3

area=x multiple x+3=x^2 +3x

now

new length =x+9

new breadth=(x+3)-5

new area=(x+9). (x-2) =x^2-2x+9x-18

but new area= old area(given)

x^2+3x=x^2-2x+9x-18

3x-7x=-18

-4x=-18

x=18/4=4.5.

Answer:

let us consider length and breadth as X and y

then length is y+3

area is equal

area of rectangle is lengthxbreadth

by given condition

(y+3)y=(x+9)(y-5)

by solving it further and doing calculations,

we get dimensions of rectangle
