so length will be=x+3

Now area will be =l*b=x²+3x....(1)

In 2nd case..

breadth=x-5

length=x+3+9=x+12

Now area =x²+7x-60......(2)

Comparing equation 1 and 2....

x²+3x=x²+7x-60

60=7x-3x

60=4x

x=15....

so breadth=x=15cm

and length=x+3=18cm...
