Answer:

Let the length of rectangle = x+3 cm

breadth of rectangle = x cm

Area of rectangle = (x+3)x cm²

New length of rectangle = x+3+9 = x+12 cm

New breadth of rectangle = x-5 cm

New area of rectangle = (x+12)(x-5) cm²

So,

(x+3)x = (x+12)(x-5)

+3x = -5x+12x-60

-x²+3x = 7x-60

3x-7x = -60

-4x = -60

x = -60 = 15

-4

Length = x+3 =15+3 =18 cm

Breadth = x =15 cm
