Step-by-step explanation:

LET THE LENGTH AND BREADTH BE L AND B.

SO THE AREA IS LB.

NEW LENGTH AFTER INCREASED BY 15% IS {(100+15)/100}*L

NEW BREADTH AFTER DECREASED BY 20% IS {(100–20)/100}*B

NEW AREA IS (115/100)*L*(80/100)*B

=0.92 LB

PERCENTAGE CHANGE IS {(LB-0.92 LB)/(LB)}*100

=8%

hope this maybe helps

\text{Let length be I and breadth be b}

\text{Area = lb}

 \textbf{New Length = }  \frac{115l}{100}  =  \frac{23}{20}

 \textbf{New Breadth = }  \frac{85b}{100}  =  \frac{17b}{20}

 \textbf{New Area = }  \frac{lb.23.17}{400}

 = lb. \frac{391}{400}

 \text{There is decrease of }  \frac{9}{400} \text{which is equal to} 2.25\%
