let length and breadth of rectangle is l and b

according to question

new length =l+l*10%=11/10l

new breadth=b-b*10%=9/10b

area of new formed rectangle = new length*new breadth=11/10l*9/10b=99/100lb

and area of old rectangle =lb

percentage of area new rectangle=(area of new reactangle/area of rectangle)*100

(99/100)lb*100/lb

99% area of old rectangle

change of

area of new rectangle= area of old rectangle decreased by 1%
