Step-by-step explanation:

let \: l \:  = 1.25l \: (25\% \: increased) \\ b = 0.7b \: ( \: 30\% \: diminished) \\  area \: = l \times b \\  = 1.25l\times 0.7b\\  =0. 875 {lb}  \\  \\ actual \: area \:  = l \times b \\  = lb \\  \\ area \: decreased \: by \:  = lb  -  0.875lb \\  = 0.125lb \:  =  \frac{1}{8} lb \:

Let,

area be 100cm²

length = 10cm

breadth = 10cm

Given,

length is increased by 25%

=> 10 + 10×25% = 12.5 cm

Breadth is diminished by 30%

=> 10 - 10×30% = 7 cm

Then,

Area = 12.5 × 7 = 87.5cm²

Therefore we can conclude that if length is increased by 25% and breadth is decreased by 30% ,the area will be decreased by 12.5%
