breadth by 5 cm. If the length and the
breadth are increased by 1 cm, the perimeter
becomes 60 cm. Find the length and
the breadth.

Step-by-step explanation:

let the breath be x and the length be x+5

after the length and breath are increased

breath-x+1

length x+5+1

p=2(l+b)

2*(x+1+x+6)

2*2x+7=60

2x+7=30

2x=30-7

2x=23

x=11.5

l-11.5+5=16.5

b-11.5

not sure if it is right...

but tried to solve it....

Step-by-step explanation:

let the breadth of rectangle = x

so , length of rectangle = x + 5

if length and breadth are increased by 1 cm

then . breadth = x + 1

and length = x + 5 + 1 = x + 6

perimeter of rectangle = 2(length + breadth)

60 = 2(x + 1 + x + 6)

60 = 2(2x + 7)

60 = 4x + 14

60 - 14 = 4x

46 = 4x

46/4 = x

23/2 = x

breadth = x = 23/2

length = x + 5 = 23/2 + 5

= (23 + 10)/2

= 33/2
