the length of a rectangle is P + 3 cm and its breadth is 2P - 5 cm if its perimeter is 26 cm find the area of the rectangle in centimetres square

hey..

2(l+b) = 26
l+b = 26/2
l+b = 13

p+3+2p-5 = 13
3p-2 = 13
3p = 13 + 2
3p = 15
p = 15/3
p = 5 cm

l = p + 3 = 5+3 = 8cm
b = 2p - 5= 2(5) - 5= 10 - 5= 5cm

area = lb
= 8 X 5
= 40 sq.cm
