let width=x
so , length=3x
perimeter of rectangle=2(l+b)
or 100=2(3x+x)
or 50=4x
.•.x=25/2
therefore, width=25/2m
and length=75/2m. answer

perimeter of the rectangle is 2(l+b)

l=3x,b=x

perimeter =100

100=2(3x+x)

100=6x+2x

100=8x

x=100/8

x=12.5

l=3x so l =37.5

b=x so b=12.5
