ATQ,

the length of a rectangle is thrice it's width.

let the breadth (width) of the rectangle be x

therefore it's length = 3x

given perimeter of the rectangle = 96m

we know that 2(l + b) = perimeter of a rectangle

➡ 2(3x + x) = 96m

➡ 6x + 2x = 96m

➡ 8x = 96m

➡ x = 96/8

➡ x = 12m

hence,

  • width of the rectangle = x

= 12m

  • length of the rectangle = 3x

= 3 × 12

= 36m

VERIFICATION :-

= 2(l + b)

= 2(36 + 12)

= 2 × 48

= 96m

hence verified!

As given in the question,

length of rectangle = is 3 times its width

let the length be x.

therefore , breadth = 3x

formula of perimeter of a rectangle = 2( l+b)

now , according to the above calculations,

= 2( l+ b)

= 2(x+ 3x)

= 2x 4x

= 8x

now according to question,

8x = 96

x = 96/8

therefore , x= 12

length = 16m

breadth = 3x12= 36m
