Given :
- The length of a rectangle is three times its width.
- If the perimeter of the rectangle is 96m.
To Find :
- Length and Breadth
Solution :
- Let Length be 3x cm
- And Breadth be x cm
Perimeter = 2 (L + B)
➛ 96 = 2 (3x + x)
➛ 96/2 = 3x + x
➛ 48 = 4x
➛ x = 48/4
➛ x = 12cm
Now, Length and Breadth
➛ Length = 3x
➛ Length = 3 × 12
➛ Length = 36cm
➛ Breadth = 12cm
Verification :
Perimeter = 2 (L + B)
➛ 96 = 2 (12 + 36)
➛ 96 = 2 × 48
➛ 96 = 96
Therefore, Required Length and breadth of The rectangle is 36cm and 12cm.

The perimeter of the rectangle is given as 96 m.
Let, the width of the rectangle = x
According, to the given condition,
Length = 3x
Width = x
As we know,
Perimeter of a rectangle = 2 (L +B)
Then,
➪96 = 2( 3x + x)
➪ 96 = 2(4x)
➪ 96 = 8x
➪ 96/8 = x
➪ 12 = x
The value of x = 12 m.
ie, the width of the rectangle = 12 m
Then, length = 3x
➪ 3 × 12
➪ 36 m
•°• Length = 36 m and Breadth = 12 m.
- Perimeter = 2 (Length + Breadth)
- 96 = 2(L+B)
On substituting the values,
- 96 = 2 ( 36 + 12)
- 96 = 2 ( 48)
- 96 = 96
- LHS = RHS
Hence verified!!
