Answer:

  • length = 10cm
  • breadth = 4cm

Explanation:

In a rectangle the length is 2 more than twice its breadth and its perimeter is 28 cm

Let's say that the length is x

And its breadth is y

According to the given question,

⇒ x = 2 + 2y . . . . . .(i)

We know that,

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2(x + y)

⇒ 28 = 2(2 + 2y + y)

From eq.(i) :-

⇒ 28 = 2(2 + 3y)

⇒ 28 = 4 + 6y

⇒ 28 - 4 = 6y

⇒ 24 = 6y

⇒ 24/6 = y

⇒ 4 = y

Therefore ,the breadth is 4 cm

Hence the length is :-

⇒x = 2 + 2y

⇒ 2 + 2(4)

⇒ 2 + 8 = 10cm

Formula used :-

  • Perimeter of a rectangle = 2(l + b)

Where,

  • l denotes the length
  • b denotes the breadth
