Step-by-step explanation:

Perimeter of recatngle = 2(length+breadth)

Here it is given that length is twice of breadth

Let 'L' be the length and 'b' be the breadth then

It is given that L=2b

And as per given information

2(L+b)=72

We can replace 'L' with '2b' because it's twice of b

Then we will get

2(2b+b)=72

2(3b)=72

6b=72

b=72/6=12

Therefore Length= 2×12=24

another example:-

Let the breadth of rectangle be x

Thus, the length will be 2x.

Given, perimeter =72 meter

Perimeter of rectangle =2( length + breadth )

Therefore, 72=2(x+2x)

⇒6x=72

⇒x=12

Breadth of rectangle is 12 m.

Therefore length will be 2x=2×12=24 m.

another example:-

Breadth =x

Length =2x

Perimeter =72m

Perimeter =2(l+b)

⇒72=2(2x+x)

⇒72=6x

x=12

∴breadth=12m

length=24m
