Let the breadth be a

Then length = 2(a) = 2a.

We know that, Perimeter of rectangle = 2( length + breadth) .

Given perimeter = 72 m

=> 72m =2( a+2a)

=> 36=3a

=> a =12

Hence, Length is 2(12) = 24 m

Breadth is a =12 m

let the breadth be x
length=2x

P=2(l+b)
=2(2x + x)
=6x

therefore,
6x = 72
x=72/6
x=12

length=2x = 2x12 = 24 metre
breadth=x = 12 metre
