Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given l=2b

P= 36

2(l+b)=36

I+b=36/2=18

2b+b=18

3b=18

B=18/3=6cm

L=2(6)=12cm

Question:-

The length of a rectangle is twice its breadth; if the perimeter of the rectangle is 36 cm, find the length of the rectangle.

Solution:-

Given:- a) The length of a rectangle is twice its breadth.

b) The perimeter of the rectangle is

36cm.

Formula:-

=> Perimeter of rectangle = 2 ( L + B )

So now,

From given ( a )

=> L (Length) = 2 × B (Breadth) ...( 1 )

=> Perimeter of rectangle

= 2 ( L + B )

{ From ( 1 ) & ( b) }

=> 36 = 2 ( 2B + B )

=> 36 = 2 ( 3B )

=> 36 = 6B i.e.

=> 6B = 36

=> B = 36/6

=> B (Breadth) = 6 cm

Put value B (Breadth) in ( 1 )

=> L (Length) = 2 × B (Breadth)

=> L (Length) = 2 × 6

=> L (Length) = 12 cm

Hence Length and Breadth of rectangle are 12 cm & 6 cm respectively.

i hope it helps you.
