Let breadth = x

length. = 2x

2(2x + x) = 60

2 * 3x = 60

6x = 60

x = 60/6

x = 10

breadth = 10cm

length = 2 * 10 = 20cm

Answer :-

Given , perimeter = 60 cm.

To find : The length and breadth of the rectangle.

So , let the breadth be x cm.

A/Q ,

Length is twice the breadth means the length is 2x

Solution :-

Perimeter = 2 ( l + b)

2 ( 2x + x )

2 × 3x

6x cm

Now ,

perimeter = 60 cm

⟹ 60 cm = 6x cm

x = \frac{\cancel{60} \: 10 }{\cancel6}

\therefore x = 10 cm

Hence , breath = x = 10 cm

Length = 2x = 2×10 = 20 cm
