the length of a rectangle is twice its breadth.if the perimeter is 72 metres,find the length and breadth of the rectangle​

Given:

perimeter = 2(l +b)

length = 2 × b

Solution:

72 ÷ 2 = 36

36 ÷ 3 = 12

length 12 × 2

=24metres

Breadth = 12 metres

Let breadth be x

Length = 2x

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l + b) = 72

= 2(2x + x)

= 2(3x)

72m = 6x

6x = 72m

x = 72\6 = 12m

Therefore

Breadth = 12m

Length = 2 × 12 = 24m
