The length of a rectangle is twice its breath. if it's perimeter is 60cm.What is the length and breadth of the Rectangle.

Answer :

★ The length is 20 cm and the breadth is 10 cm ★

Given :

  • The length of a rectangle is twice its breath.
  • And the perimeter is 60cm.

Find :

  • The length and breadth of the rectangle.

\large{\underline{\mathfrak{Solution:-}}}

Here, we have that length of rectangle is twice its breadth and also that the perimeter is 60 cm and we need to find the length and breadth of the same rectangle.

Consider,

  • The breadth of the rectangle = x
  • The length of the rectangle = 2x

Formula of perimeter of Rectangle :

\large{\boxed{\sf{Perimeter\;of\;Rectangle = 2( Length + Breadth )}}}

» Putting values in the formula :

= {\sf{Perimeter\;of\;Rectangle = 2( Length + Breadth )}}

= {\sf{ 60 \; cm = 2( 2x + x )}}

= {\sf{ 60 \; cm = 2 × 3x }}

= {\sf{ 60 \; cm = 6x }}

= {\sf{ \dfrac{60}{6} = x }}

= {\sf{ 10 \; cm = x }}

So, the measurement of length and breadth of rectangle is :-

➡ Length = 2x = 2 × 10 = 20 cm

➡ Breadth = x = 10 cm
