Given :

Length = twice its width

Perimeter = 96 m

Width = y.

According to the question :

Width = y

Length = 2y

Perimeter = 2 ( l + b )

☞ 96 = 2 ( 2y + y )

☞ 96 = 4y + 2y

☞ 96 = 6y

☞ y = 96 / 6

☞ y = 16.

Length = 2y

☞ 2 × y

☞ 2 × 16

☞ 32.

Therefore, Length = 32m

and Width = 16m.

Here,
Length = 2x ( twice means (x2)
Width = x
Perimeter = 96
Formula of perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)
96=2( 2x+x)
96 = 4x + 2x
96 = 6x
x= 96/6
x= 16.

So,
Length = 2x
= 2x16
= 32
Width = x
= 16.
