Given :-

  • The length of a rectangle is twice its width
  • The perimeter of rectangle is 60 cm

To Find :-

  • Find the length and width of the rectangle

Solution :-

~Here, we’re given the perimeter of the rectangle and information about the length and the width of the rectangle. Firstly we’ll take the values of the length and width of the rectangle in like variables forming an equation for it’s perimeter. By solving the equation we can find the values of width and length.

Let,

  • The width of rectangle b ‘x’
  • Then the length will be ‘2x’

As we know that ,

\sf \bigstar \;\; Perimeter\;of\;rectangle= 2( w + l )

Where,

  • l is the length
  • w is the width

According to the Question :-

\sf \implies 60 = 2( x + 2x )

\sf \implies 60 = 2( 3x )

\sf \implies 3x = \dfrac{60}{2}

\sf \implies 3x = 30

\sf \implies x = \dfrac{30}{3}

\sf \implies x = 10\;cm

\sf \leadsto Width = 10\;cm

\sf \leadsto Length = 20\;cm

Therefore,

  • Length of the rectangle is 20 cm and width is 10 cm

Answer:

length = 20cm

width = 10cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Let width = x

Length = 2x

Perimeter = 60cm

FORMULA:

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(length + width)

60cm = 2(2x+x)

60cm = 2(3x)

60cm = 6x

x = 60/6

x = 10cm

Width = 10cm

Length = 2x = 2×10 = 20cm

Hope it helps
