Answer:

Let the breath = x

so length = 2x

perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)

60 = 2(2x + x )

60 = 2 × 3x

60 = 6x

x = 60/6

x = 10

hence, length is 2x = 20 cm

Given:

The length of the rectangle = 2 *( breadth of the rectangle)

The perimeter of the same rectangle = 60 cm.

To find:

The length of the rectangle.

Solution:

A rectangle is a form of a quadrilateral whose opposite sides are equal.

Let us name the rectangle EFGH.

The perimeter of the rectangle EFGH is,

Perimeter = 2 × (L + B)

Where L and B are the length and breadth of the rectangle, respectively.

Since the length of the rectangle, EFGH is twice the breadth of the rectangle EFGH.

Therefore,

L = 2B

Perimeter = 60 cm

60 = 2 × ( 2B + B)

60 = 2×( 3 B)

6 B = 60

B = 10

Breadth = 10 cm

The length = 2B = 2 × 10 = 20 cm

Hence, the length of the rectangle EFGH is equal to 20 cm.
