Given: The Length of a rectangle is twice its breadth. l=2b

The perimeter of the rectangle is 48 cm.

The perimeter of the rectangle=2\times (l+b)

48=2\times (2b+b)\\\frac{48}{2}=3b\\24=3b\\\frac{24}{3}=b\\b=8\ cm

l=2b\\l=2\times 8\\ l=16\ cm

The dimension of the rectangle is, 8cm and 16 cm

Given,

The length of a rectangle is twice its breadth

Perimeter is 48 cm

To Find,

The dimensions of the rectangle

Solution,

Let us denote,

The length of rectangle =l

The breadth of rectangle=b

It is given in the question l = 2b

As we know that,

Perimeter (p) of a rectangle = 2(l+b)

According to question.

⇒p = 48

⇒2×(l+b) = 48

⇒2×(2b+b) = 48

⇒6b = 48

⇒b = 8

And,

⇒l = 2b

⇒l = 16

Hence, the dimensions of the rectangle are. length = 16 cm and breadth = 8.
