let the lenght be 2x
and breadth be x
perimeter = 48
now,
perimeter = 2(l+b)
48 = 2(2x+x)
48 = 2(3x)
48 = 6x
x = 48/6
x= 8
length = 2*8
=16cm
breadth =1*8
=8cm.....

Given :

  • The perimeter of a rectangle is 48 cm.
  • It's length is 2 times its breath.

To find :

  • The dimensions of the rectangle =?

Formula Used :

  • Perimeter of the rectangle = 2(length + breadth)

Step-by-step explanation :

Let, the breadth of the rectangle be, x.

Then, the length of the rectangle be, 2x.

As We know that,

Perimeter of the rectangle = 2(length + breadth)

Substituting the values in the above formula, we get,

48 = 2(x + 2x)

48 = 2(3x)

48 = 6x

6x = 48

x = 48/6

x = 8

Therefore, We got the value of, x = 8 .

Hence, the breadth of the rectangle, x = 8 cm

The breadth of the rectangle be, 2x = 2 × 8 = 16 m
