Then the length of the rectangle will be 2x cm.

Perimeter of the rectangle = 2 ( l + b )

= 2 ( x + 2x ) = 6x cm

Given that the perimeter is 24 cm.

So 6x = 24

x = 24/6 = 4 cm

So the width of the rectangle is 4 cm.
