Step-by-step explanation:

Let the width of the rectangle = x cm.

Then the length of the rectangle will be 2x cm.

Perimeter of the rectangle = 2 ( l + b )

= 2 ( x + 2x ) = 6x cm

Given that the perimeter is 24 cm.

So 6x = 24

x = 24/6 = 4 cm

So the width of the rectangle is 4 cm.

Let the width be x

Length = 2x

2(2x) + 2(x) = 24

4x + 2x = 24

6x = 24

x = 4

Therefore width is 4cm where length is 8cm

Area of rectangle is l x b

8 x 4

32

Ans : 32 sq. cm
