Hello!

Let the breadth of the rectangle plot be x m

Length of the rectangle plot is 5m less than twice it breadth

Therefore,

Length of plot = 2x - 5

Perimeter = 2(l+b)

50 m = 2( 2x - 5 + x )

50 m = 4x - 10 + 2x

50 m = 4x + 2x - 10

50 m = 6x - 10

50 + 10 = 6x

60/6 = x

10 = x

Hence, breadth is 10 m

Length of rectangle plot = 2x - 5 = 2 * 10 - 5 = 20 - 5 = 15 m

Thanks for the question?

Let the length be x and breadth be y,

According to the given condition-

x=2y-5

then,

2(l+b) = perimeter

2(2y-5+y) =50 m

2(3y-5) =50

6y-10=50

6y=60

y=10 m

now substitute the value of y to find x

x=2y-5

=2*10-5

=20-5

=15 m

thus,

length=15 m

breadth=10 m
