Given :-

  • The length of a rectangle plot is 5 times its breadth if the perimeter of the pot is 120 m from the linear equation in one variable

To find :-

  • Dimensions of the plot

Solution :-

Let the breadth of rectangle be x then its length be 5x

  • Perimeter of rectangle = 120m

As we know that

→ Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l + b)

Where " l " is length and " b " is breadth of the rectangle.

According to question

→ Perimeter of rectangle = 120

→ 2(l + b) = 120

Put the value of length and breadth

→ 2(2x + x) = 120

→ 2x + x = 120/2

→ 3x = 60

→ x = 60/3

→ x = 20

Hence,

  • Length of rectangle = 2x = 40m

  • Breadth of rectangle = x = 20m

Verification :-

  • Perimeter of rectangle = 120

LHS = 2(l + b)

→ 2(40 + 20)

→ 2 × 60

→ 120m = RHS verified

More to know :-

  • Area of circle = πr²

  • Circumference of circle = 2πr

  • Area of rectangle = l × b

  • Perimeter of square = 4 × side

  • Area of square = side × side
