Answer:

let l be length of the rectangle and

b be the breadth of the rectangle

Step-by-step explanation:

according to the question

l=b+17

perimeter of the rectangle is 2(l+b)

2(b+17+b)

2(2b+17)

4b+34

do it but you're self

Answer:

Let the breadth of the park be = x metres

Then the length of the park be = x±17 metres

perimeter of the park=2( length ±breadth)

=2(x±17±x) metres

=2(2x±17) metres

But it is given that the perimeter of the rectangle is 178 metres.

2(2x ±17) =178

4x±34=178

4x =178-34

4x=144

x=144/4=36

Therefore breadth of the park=36 metres

Length of the park=36±17=53 metres.
