★Question :-

➙ The length of a rectangular deck is 4 times it’s width. If the decks perimeter is 30 feet, what is the area? What is the width and length?

★Answer :-

WIDTH LENGTH

x 4x

=> Perimeter of rectangle = 2 ( l + b )

=> 30 ft = 2 ( 4x + x )

=> 30 = 8x + 2x

=> 30 = 10x

=> x = 30/10

=> x = 3

THEREFORE ,

  • width = x = 3 ft
  • length = 4x = 3 × 4 = 12 ft .

=> area of rectangle = length × width

=> area of rectangle = 12 × 3

=> area of rectangle = 36 ft .

THEREFORE ,

The area of the deck is 36ft.
