The length of a rectangular feild is increased by 50% and it's breadth is decreased by 50% to form a new rectangular feild. Find the percentage change in the area of feild.​

Now, 

New length =a+50 % of a

 =a+2a

 =23a

New width  =b−50% of b

 =b−2b

=2b

New Area  =23a×2b

=43ab

Decrease in Area  =ab−43ab

 =4ab

% of Decrease in Area  =[4ab×100]/ab

= 4100

= 25 %
