∴ Length = (b+8)

⇒ (80÷2) = 2b+8

⇒ 40 = 2b+8

⇒ 2b+8 = 40

⇒ 2b = (40-8)

⇒ 2b = 32

⇒ b = (32÷2)

⇒ b = 16 metres.

Hence, the breadth of the rectangle is 16 metres.

∴ The length of the rectangle is (16+8) metres

                                                   = 24 metres.
