Answer:

L = 40 m & B = 30 m

Step By Step Explanation:

Let breadth (b) of rectangular field be
x m.

Then, length (l) of the field = (x + 10) m.

Now,

Perimeter of the field = 140 m
⇒ 2 (l + b) = 140 m
⇒ 2 (x + 10 + x) = 140 m
⇒ 2 (2x + 10) = 140 m
⇒ 4x + 20 = 140 m
⇒ 4x = (140 - 20) m
⇒ x = 120 / 4 m
⇒ x = 30 m

Therefore:

Breadth of field (b) = x m = 30 m
Length of field (l) = (x + 10) m = 40 m.

Hence, The length and the breadth of the field are 40 m and 30 m respectively.

2(length + breadth) = Perimeter

let length be x

2(x + (x+10)) = 140

2x + 10 = 70

2x = 60

x = 30

therefore, length is = 30

breadth is x + 10 = 30 + 10 = 40
