The length of a rectangular field is 12 cm and it’s breadth is 10 cm. There is a veranda all around of 2 cm. Find the area of the veranda?​

Length of field = 12 cm

breadth of field = 10 cm

Area of field = l × b

= 12 × 10

= 120 cm,

widths of veranda = 2 cm

Length of veranda = 12+ (2+2)

= 16 cm

breadth of veranda = 10 +(2+2)

= 14 cm

are of veranda = l × b

= 16 × 14

= 224 cm,

Area of veranda = (are of varanda- are of field)

= 224 - 120 cm,

= 104 cm.
