\huge\mathbb{\underline{QUESTION:-}}

★ the length of a rectangular field is 300 metres and its breadth is two upon three of its length if erodov with is 10 metres is built along the inner wall of the field what is the area of the road ?

\huge\mathbb{\underline{SOLUTION:-}}

Area of field = length × breadth

  • as breadth is 2/3 of length i.e 300
  • so breadth =2/3 × 300 = 200m

  •  so area=300× 200

  •  = 60000m2

now when 10 m road is built so

  • length = 300 - 20 = 280 m
  • breadth=200 - 20 = 180 m

So area = length × breadth

=180 × 280 = 50400m2

so area of road=area of rectangle outer-area of rectangle inner

                        =60000 - 50400

                        =9600 m2

Area of field = length × breadth

So area = length × breadth

so area of road=area of rectangle outer-area of rectangle inner

=60000 - 50400

=9600 m2
