Length of field = 400 m
Width of field = 5*400/8
= 5 * 50
= 250 m

Area of field = 400 * 250
= 100000 m^2

Length of Outer rectangle = 400 + 12 + 12
= 424 m
Width of outer rectangle = 250 + 12 + 12
= 274 m
Area of outer rectangle = 424 * 274
= 116176 m^2

Area of road = Area of outer rectangle - Area of field
Area of road = 116176 - 100000
= 16176 m^2
