then
length =2x-8
perimeter of rectangle= 2(l+b)
56=2(2x-8+x)
56/2=(2x-8+x)
28=3x -8
28+8=3x
36=3x
36/3=x
12m=x
therefore length (l)=2x-8=2×12-8=16m
breadth (b)= 12 m
