let the breadth be x
length=2x-8
perimeter=56

perimeter of a rectangle=2 (l+b)
56=2 (2x-8+x)
56/2=(3x-8)
28=3x-8
28+8=3x
36=3x
36/3=x

12=x

breadth=x=12 meter
length=2x- 8
=2×12-8
=24-8
=16meter
