Then length = 2x - 8

According to the problem,

2( x + 2x - 8 ) = 56

2 ( 3x - 8 ) = 56

3x - 8 = 56/2

3x - 8 = 28

3x = 28 + 8

3x = 36

x = 36/3

x = 12

Breadth= x = 12

Then length = 2x - 8 = 24 - 8 = 16

Therefore, the length and breadth of Rectangular field are 12 and 16.
