Solution :-

Let's :-

  • Breadth of rectangle = x

  • Length of rectangle = 2x - 8

Perimeter of rectangle = 2 ( L + B )

⇒ 2 ( 2x - 8 + x ) = 56

⇒ 2 ( 3x - 8 ) = 56

⇒ 6x - 16 = 56

⇒ 6x = 56 + 16

⇒ 6x = 72

⇒ x = 72 / 6

⇒ x = 12

Breadth of rectangle = 12 cm

Length of rectangle = 2 × 12 - 8 = 16 cm

Let the breadth be x

Then, length=2x-8

The total perimeter=2(l+b)=56

                               ⇒l+b=28

                               ⇒x+2x-8=28

                              ⇒3x=36

                              ⇒x=12

so,the breadth is 12 m

The length is 16m
