And the length of a field = 3x
therefore, the perimeter of a rectangular field = 2(l+b)
or 72m = 2(x+3x)
or 72m = 2(4x)
or 72m = 8x
or 72m/8 = x
or 9m = x

the breadth of the field = x = 9m
the length of the field = 3x = 3 × 9m = 27m
