let breadth of field is X
so its length will be 2X
given, perimeter of field is 288 m ----(1)

we know that
perimeter of rectangle =2(length+breadth) ----(2)

combine (1) and (2)

2(2X+X) = 288
4X+2X = 288
6X = 288
X = 288÷6
X = 48

so breadth of field is 48 m

its length is 2X = 2×48 = 96 m

2(l+b)

2(x+2x)=288

2×3x=288

6x=288

X=48
