Let the breadth be x m.

and the length be 2x m.

Perimeter of rectangular field = 240 m

2(l + b) = 240 m

2 ( 2x + x ) = 240 m

2 x 3x = 240 m

6x = 240 m

x = 240

6

x = 40

Hence, the breadth of field = x = 40 m

and, the length of field = 2x = 2 x 40 = 80m

hope it helps u...

Answer:

Given,

length of a rectangular field = twice its breadth.

If the breadth of the field be x , then, the length = 2x.

According to the question,

\implies2(length \:  +  \: breadth) = 240 \\ \implies2(2x + x) = 240 \\  \implies2 \times 3x = 240 \\ \implies6x = 240 \\ \implies \: x =  \frac{240}{6}  \\ \implies \: x = 40 \: m.

Therefore,breadth of the field = 40 m.

Length of the field= 40×2 = 80 m.
