Step-by-step explanation:

let the breadth be 'x'

let the length be 'x+20'

now, we know perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)

  • 2(x+x+20) = 280
  • 2(2x+20)= 280
  • 4x+40= 280
  • 4x = 280-40
  • 4x = 240
  • x = 240/4
  • x = 60
  • so breadth is 60 cm
  • and length is 60+20 cm
  • 80cm

Given :-

Length of rectangular floor is 20m more than its breadth

perimeter = 280m

To Find :-

Breadth of rectangular floor

Length of rectangular floor

Solution :-

Let Breadth = x

Length = x + 20m

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)

2(x+20+x) = 280m

2(2x+20) = 280m

4x + 40 = 280m

4x = 280m - 40m

4x = 240m

x =  \frac{240}{4}

x = 60m

Hence, The breadth of rectangular floor is 60m

Length = x + 20m

60m + 20m = 80m

Hence, the Length of rectangular floor is 80m
