Let the length be x
therefore the breadth is x - 3
there area of hall = l × b
130 = x (x - 3)
130 = x^2 - 3x
0 = x^2 - 3x - 130
0 = x^2 -13x + 10x - 130
0 = x( x - 13 ) +10(x - 13)
0= (x-13)(x+10)

therefore x=13 or x = -10
but since length can never be negative x = 13cm
breadth = x - 3
= 13 - 3
= 10 cm
