Given :

  • Length of rectangular hall is 5m more than its breadth.
  • Perimeter of hall is 74m.

To Find :

  • Length and breadth of the rectangular hall.

Solution :

\longmapsto\tt{Let\:the\:breadth\:be=x}

As the length of hall is 5m more than its breadth.So,

\longmapsto\tt{Length=x+5}

\longmapsto\tt{Perimeter=74m}

Using Formula :

\longmapsto\tt\boxed{Perimeter\:of\:Rectangle=2(l+b)}

Putting Values :

\longmapsto\tt{74=2(x+5+x)}

\longmapsto\tt{\cancel\dfrac{74}{2}=2x+5}

\longmapsto\tt{37=2x+5}

\longmapsto\tt{37-5=2x}

\longmapsto\tt{32=2x}

\longmapsto\tt{x=\cancel\dfrac{32}{2}}

\longmapsto\tt\bold{x=16}

Value of x is 16 .

Now :

\longmapsto\tt\bold{Breadth=16m}

\longmapsto\tt{Length=16+7}

\longmapsto\tt\bold{23m}

VERIFICATION :

\longmapsto\tt{74=2(16+23)}

\longmapsto\tt{74=2(39)}

\longmapsto\tt\bold{74=74}
