The cost of fencing is Rs 2904

We know that the perimeter of a rectangle of length l and breadth b is given as:

P = 2(l+b)

Given, length of the park, l = 0.140km = 140m [1km = 1000m]

Breadth, b = 80m

P = 2(140+80) m

= 440 m

As total wire needed is 3 times the perimeter.

So, length of total  wire needed  = 3*440m = 1320m

Cost of fencing at Rs 2.20 per meter is

= Rs (2.20*1320)

= Rs 2904
